Rainy winter days also have some advantages – for example you are finding the one or other photo in your archive. I have these 35mm negatives scanned with an Eposn Perfection 1640SU and the tool “xsane” (running on Windows!). Xsane is somewhat tricky while scanning color negatives. To get pleasant results you should create and calibrate profiles for every film type. Very useful are the shred at the beginning of the film with a complete exposed and unexposed part. With this you can define the corners of all three color channels. Even better if you take a picture of a color chart like this one<\/a> at a suitable (day-)light first, then you may create a 100% fitting profile. But in those days I never thought at something like that.<\/p>\n

After scanning into a 14 Bit TIFF “developed” with RAW Therapee and edited with GIMP.<\/p>\n
